QUALITY: POLICY STATEMENT

It is the policy of STNDARD ENGINEERING CONSTRUCTION COMAPANY LIMITED, to

implement a company wide quality program, which consistently provides products and

services, which conform to the needs and standards defined by our clients. The company is

committed to operating and maintaining a quality assurance system designed to meet the

requirements of BS, EN, ISO (9002)

In order to fulfill this policy, a Quality Assurance Management System has been developed and

documented in the form of

Quality Control Procedure Manual

Operating Manuals

Work Instructions provided on award of contract

Project Management Documentation


Achievement of the Company’s Quality Policy is the responsibility of all personnel who are

individually responsible for the quality of their work and to whom this policy statement has

been explained. The management will ensure that relevant procedures are communicated to,

understood and ahhered to by all personnel.

The managing director signs this policy statement and adherence to the policy is manadatory

for all company personnel.

COMPANY COMMUNITY AFFAIRS POLICY AND PROGRAMME

DETAILS OF STANDARD ENG. CONST. COY. LTD. COMMUNITY AFFAIR POLICY AND PROGRAMME


STANDARD ENG. CONST. COY. LTD is committed to positive community relations’

management through out the duration of the project by ensuring that the following under

mentioned policy, plans and strategy are in place and working through the line management.

The company’s policy on community relations seeks to make sure that the negative impact of

operation on host communities is minimized and that community relations are improved to

reduce community disruption to operations. To achieve this, the management will ensure that:

• the culture and traditions of host communities are respected.

• Staff and sub contractors are good ambassadors and maintain good relationship with the

host communities and contact service will also be offered.

• Indigenes of the host communities would also be employed to work on their communities.

• Services and projects that would help the communities and within the capability of

STANDARD ENG. CONST. COY. LTD as a corporate body would be considered & executed.


HOST COMMUNITIES DEVELOPMENT AND SUB CONTRACTING POLICY

As a way of growing development, STANDARD ENG. CONST. COY. LTD shall take reasonable

steps to avert all forms of frictional conflicts with its host community. Mutual co-operate with

regard to community rights shall be of interest. Necessary assistance shall be rendered to

host community of operations as much as possible without hesitation. Skilled, unskilled

labours and some artisans shall be considered for employment when carrying out operations

in the host communities.

In the event of any misunderstanding, STANDARD ENG. CONST. COY. LTD shall with Client,

seek peaceful avenues of understanding and company’s position shall be explained so that

agreement is reached. In areas of operations, community representatives shall be included in

the employment cadre. This will help communicate intricate information that will enhance

peaceful understanding and good relations. However, this statement implies that:

• STANDARD ENG. CONST. COY. LTD shall do all it can to render assistance to host

community in as much as it contribute to rural development.

• As a way of easing tension, there will be constant liaison with community representatives and

recognized community chief(s)

• Special traditional idol worship days will be adhered to provided it does not distort production.

• Constant forum for dialogue will be maintained.

• The health and safety of al community employees shall be of primary importance as well as

the environment, in which operations is on-going.

• Community representatives shall be invited for safety meetings.

It is the primary objective of STANDARD ENG. CONST. COY. LTD to ensure that their host

communities are not in any way affected by its operations instead uplift the living standards of

local dwellers and develops infrastructure facilities to modern standards.

STANDARD ENG. CONST. COY. LTD has an established formal in-house HSE-MS for her

operations, which has resulted in project execution and completion with zero LTI.

STANDARD ENG. CONST. COY. LTD. CORPORATE HEALTH ENVIRONMENT AND SAFETY POLICY

The Board of Directors of STANDARD ENG. CONST. COY. LTD is dedicated to the

implementation of comprehensive Health, Environment, and safety policies.

To ensure compliance with the above, the necessary procedures and work instructions have

been incorporated into our Management system.

Cashes policy implemented within STANDARD ENG. CONST. COY. LTD is based on the goal

of providing an atmosphere conducive to good health, safety, environmental awareness,

education, fairness and productivity.

Procedures and policies, common sense, education, and employee awareness are the key

elements to the prevention of both accidents and incidents.

The fundamentals components of the STANDARD ENG. CONST. COY. LTD programme are

frequently discussed, analyzed and stressed to the company’s work force through safety

meetings, training activities, handout, placards, auditing and dedicating implementation of the

policies.

STANDARD ENG. CONST. COY. LTD and its affiliate companies consider the safety, health,

physical well being of their employees and indigenous people as prime elements of the

company philosophy and the basis of the company’s success. This philosophy incorporates

communities affected by construction activities, as they must be treated in a fair equitable

manner. Employees training, company dedication and realistic policies and goals provide the

means to achieve the objectives of the programme.

STANDARD ENG. CONST. COY. LTD and its affiliate companies are aware of the potential

impact that their operations have on the environment and endeavor to keep negative effects to

a minimum through education and good work practices.

Communication, education and co-operation are the key elements of a successful Cashes

policy. STANDARD ENG. CONST. COY. LTD will continue to prioritize the implementation of

conducive policies which propagate and enhance the realization of its goals within its cashes

programme.

Employees are responsible for compliance with all the company’s policies, procedures,

practices, and laws applicable to their designed duties. Where an employee is not sure of the

policies, he has the responsibility of seeking management or supervisory guidance.

Line Management and supervisors have the primary responsibility of communicating these

policies to their respective employees and establishing programmes to ensure their safe

implementation.
